I've never heard of a SRRT Task Force having an application. I think maybe it would be fine to have an interest form but not an application form. Diedre Conkling diedre08@gmail.com "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude."―Maya Angelou

Yes, that's what Sherre said as well. The top of the renewal notice says it isn't working but it sounds like it's been fixed since the renewal letters were sent out. Guess I should try it instead of believing what I read.

Well, I just received my renewal notice and the dues for each round table is $15. I'm actually happy to pay $15 to SRRT instead of the $5 for retired members. I did a separate donation several times because I thought the $5 was too low. I'm assuming this amount, $15, was approved by each round table ...

I'm hoping it is understood that at the moment this is a SRRT Resolution and not an ALA Resolution. It doesn't become an ALA Resolution until ALA Council votes on the Resolution to approve it. That action will take place later, when ALA Council meets.

They also don't understand that ALA has no control over local libraries. Guidance on issues can come from ALA but libraries function the way they say they want government to function, local control. They also don't understand ALA conferences where programs are presented by small groups within ALA and ...

There is an Oregon library discussion list, sponsored by the state library, that does get used. The Oregon Library Association has developed email lists within the communication program that also work just like email with no special login. These are used fairly well by committees. It is possible to communicate ...

Well, email is just an app on the phone or computer and doesn't require logging in every time we want to start a conversation or give out some information. Yes, we can use email with Connect, as I am right now. It's easy when responding to a conversation but not as easy when starting a conversation. ...
RE: Sending message (like we EASILY AND SEAMLESSLY did with the email) ALA Connect is sorely missed. CONNECT is the WORST interface with which I have to deal, and largely responsible for my near TOTAL lack of involvement in ALA for more than five years.

I don't like Connect for many reasons but even though it is extremely awkward to use it does work. Since ALA eliminated the old email option, which hosted the SRRT email, we have all had to learn to make do.-- Diedre Conkling diedre08@gmail.com "If you don't like something, change it. For many years I've kept a list of people serving on ALA Council. On my list it shows that Ginny served from 1983 - 1991 and 1996 - 2021. She was one of the longest serving members of ALA Council. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y5UaCKarBzq9r8aDiKrXII59Zy9iS35cd3jmrTEJKSA/edit?usp=sharing ...
