  • CHICAGO — Underfunded libraries, schools and non-traditional organizations that provide educational services to children are invited to apply to receive one of three Coretta Scott King Book Donation Grants. Every year, in the process of choosing the Coretta Scott King Book Award winners and honor books, the Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) of the American Library Association receives multiple copies of approximately 60-100 titles by African American authors and illustrators
  • CHICAGO - The Ethnic & Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) of the American Library Association seeks nominations for the 2020 David Cohen/EMIERT Multicultural Award.  The David Cohen/EMIERT Multicultural Award recognizes recent articles that include significant new research related to the understanding and promotion of multiculturalism in libraries in North America.  Works published between January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2019 are eligible. The 2020 award application deadline is January 3, 2020. 
  • CHICAGO — The ALA Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) and the Coretta Scott King Book Awards Committee will celebrate the best in children’s and young adult literature representing the African American experience at the 2019 Coretta Scott King Book Awards Breakfast. The 2019 Awards Breakfast will be held from 7 – 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 23 in the Marriott Marquis, Marquis Ballroom Salon during ALA’s 2019 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Washington, D.C.
