  • Since 2013, Gail Borden Public Library District has collaborated with local veterans to develop innovative programs that serve area veterans, including a groundbreaking project called "Veterans on the Go". Under the umbrella title of "Veterans on the Go", the library worked with partners to foster the Veterans Information Network Sessions: "Visiting Vets," veterans who visit veterans in senior residential facilities; and "Veterans Voices" to connect veterans who speak at local schools and organizations surrounding Veterans Day. 
  • CHICAGO-Jane Cross, Master Gunnery Sergeant (USMC), Chief, US Marine Band Library & Archives, has been selected for the 2018 Achievement Award administered by the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Roundtable  and the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA).
  • CHICAGO-Stefanie Falco, MLIS Student, University of Alabama and Reference Assistant, College of DuPage, has been selected for the 2018 Adelaide Del Frate Conference Sponsorship Award administered by the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Roundtable  and the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA).
  • CHICAGO-Janice Young, Librarian, U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Scientific and Technical Information, has been selected for the 2018 Distinguished Service Award administered by the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Roundtable and the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA).
  • CHICAGO - The Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Round Table (FAFLRT) of the American Library Association (ALA) voted to proceed with merging with the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) division of ALA in the spring 2017 election.
