    Dear colleagues,

I am conducting a research study about cataloging practitioners' perspectives on the ongoing transition from Original Resource Description and Access (RDA) to Official RDA, and I invite your participation.

You are eligible to participate if you are age 18 or older and currently work in a library, archive, or museum and your professional responsibilities include cataloging, metadata creation, or related metadata work.

This study builds on research I conducted in 2010 during the transition from AACR2 to Original RDA. My goal is to compare practitioner perspectives across two major RDA transition periods and better understand how catalogers perceive standards change and cataloging quality over time.

The questionnaire asks about your cataloging experience, familiarity with and perspectives on Official RDA, and your views about cataloging quality and changes in descriptive cataloging standards.

The questionnaire should take approximately 10–15 minutes to complete, depending on the depth of your responses. Participation is voluntary, and no identifying information will be collected.

The deadline for completing the questionnaire is Monday, August 31, 2026.

Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues or professional groups who may be interested.

Thank you in advance for your time and participation.
