For people who may not be as Extremely Online as I am, I wanted to pass along that there have been reports of people getting home from ALA and testing positive for COVID. For your own safety and the safety of the people in your home and your workplace you'll want to test yourself when you get home and ...

Thanks for these notes Rhonda, and thanks for the policy citation Tara. I can only share what I was told by ALA Governance which is "if you are not registered for the ALA Annual Conference (either in person or digital experience), you cannot participate in the AC Council sessions." and this is despite ...

> Clarification on this would be great, because it sounds like practice has been overriding policy. This is my understanding. And I think there have been attempts to bring practice more in line with policy but it's also my understanding that the policies haven't officially changed yet; we get to determine ...

I agree with this strongly. It is a new change that registration is required to attend Council meetings and, if I am reading Council documents correctly, that change still needs to be approved by Council. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. I can understand that there are organizational reasons ...

Thanks for this Ann, I think you raise some really important points. One of the things that I appreciate about Council Forums is that they are less formal, they don't have to involve the (paid) time of ALA staff and resources, and they allow people to ask questions and have discussions in a way that ...

Virtual Attendees must register for the ALA Conference Digital Experience and Councilors are encouraged to be in attendance at least 15 minutes prior to the start of each Council meeting to help ...

That makes sense. However the message that people see when they try to see the content on that page is misleading at best. I'm aware this may not be a thing under your control, but just letting people know "Hey you have to log in to see this content" might make more sense. As it is, people click a ...

I am also a little surprised with this schedule, in addition to the fact that it can't be seen on the ALA website without logging in. I was expecting to have some meetings that are a little earlier than I would prefer, as someone who works nights, but for a hybrid session having not one but two meetings ...

Thank you very much for this Mike. I'm very excited for the potential for LLX, and the positive effect of not having governance/committee meetings at the same time as attractive programming. I really would like to continue to push for clarity in terms of knowing what event we're attending when we go ...

Thank you Marsha -- I appreciate that ALA has made this decision.
