  • 1.  Tentative lists 2401 and 2401a are now available

    Hello SACO members,

     

    The Tentative Subject List for January (List 2401) is now available at this website:

    A special list (2401a) dedicated to removing $v Fiction UF references is also available at this website:

    https://classweb.org/tentative-subjects/2401a.html

     

    These lists contain the proposed subject headings received by the Policy, Training, and Cooperative Programs Division from SACO members and LC catalogers. If approved at the Subject Policy meeting on January 19th, the headings will be added to the Library of Congress Subject Headings. LC catalogers and SACO participants are encouraged to review the tentative lists and provide substantive input on the proposals.

     

    Comments and suggestions should be sent to listcomments@loc.gov by Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

    Heading should have qualifier (Pa.), first UF should also have qualifier, as shown in other UFs.
    Typo "reort's" in 670-2; should be "resort's"
    LCCN n 2019011291 (Bedford Springs Resort) should also be deleted since earlier names are UF on LCSH records for built works.


    110 Palazzo Silva (Domodossola, Italy)    [sp2023002754]
    Should also have a 410 from Silva Palace (Domodossola, Italy)


    110 Temple of Apollo (Claros)    [sp2023002748]
    Qualifier should be (Claros Site, Turkey) per LCCN sh 91003199
