Welcome to 2023. The start of the year is a great time to explore new techniques to communicate, share information, and enhance your messaging with employees, patrons, funding agents, and the public. Throughout the month we'll be posting discussion prompts here in the Core Library Leaders and Managers Interest Group connect forum. We encourage you to respond to individual threads - or even to start your own thread with a specific question, problem, or challenge.
In addition to these threaded discussions, we'll host an informal, lightly moderated, synchronous zoom discussion session around the topic of communication on Thursday, January 26, starting at 9am PST/10am MTN/11am CST/12pm EST. Participants can stop in for a minute, or stay for the entire session. Registration for the January 26 event will be shared separately.
The Library Leaders and Managers Interest Group is an open forum in the ALA Connect community for anyone who wishes to participate. You do not need to be a member of ALA, nor a member of ALA Core, to be involved with this online community. We welcome library leaders and managers from all library types - school, public, academic, special - and from all levels, including mid-level managers, seasoned leaders, new directors, and anyone interested in improving their management and leadership skills. Please encourage others to join our conversation by sharing information on how to connect we posted over here.
