Purpose: Organizes, moderates, and distributes summaries of virtual and face-to-face discussions on topics of interest to leaders and managers at all levels and types of libraries.

This interest group is part of Core's Leadership and Management Section.

    During the month of February, the Library Leaders and Managers Interest Group will be discussing aspects of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Each week we'll post prompts in the Connect site for our IG, encouraging library leaders and managers s to respond, engage, and learn.  In addition, we'll have a synchronous zoom "Library Leaders Lounge" hangout on Thursday, February 23 to extend the conversation. 

    Anyone can join the discussion and you don't need to be a member of Core or of ALA.  In addition to the current month's theme, visitors to the IG's community forum can scroll back through previous topics to read, learn, and add to the discussion. Details for the February 23 zoom meet-up will be shared there, too.

    Library leaders and managers often suffer from isolation in their institutional setting.  The Core Library Leaders and Managers Interest Group is a great place to find community.
