Posting a response on behalf of Amanda Xu, CC:DA voting member:
I am looking into name of corporate body in two or more languages Condition, and name of place in two or more languages Condition.
I accept the summary recommendations
Recommendation 1: Add a new Condition and Condition Option to Corporate Body: preferred name of corporate body
Recommendation 2: Add a new Condition and Condition Option for Place: preferred name of place
But for the CONDITION, I prefer not using the "consists of words". I prefer using "a name of place in two or more languages." This phrasing clearly indicates that the name is represented in multiple languages, emphasizing the multilingual aspect without implying that the name itself consists of words from different languages. It's straightforward and easily understood. It is the same rational for the name of corporate body. I prefer CONDITION A value of a name appears in two or more languages in manifestations.

Subject: Comments requested: RSC/ORDAC/2024/1/rev
Colleagues-
RSC/ORDAC/2024/1, Proposal on Dual-language naming of Corporate Body and Place, was discussed at the RSC Meeting in April 2024. It did not pass at that meeting and thus was referred to a small working group (which included Bob Maxwell) to work on resolving the various cataloging communities' comments so that a revised version of the proposal could be issued.
That revised version, RSC/ORDAC/2024/1/rev, is now available and it will be on the RSC's agenda for their November meeting. Bob reports "...there are not huge changes here-the language has changed but the result is the same, and its position in RDA was moved a bit."
As with other proposals scheduled for the next RSC meeting, CC:DA needs to review and comment on the proposal. If you have comments or suggestions, please post them here before September 30. NARDAC needs the CC:DA response by October 1.
Thanks,
Kathy
