This community provides a forum for trainers of Catalogers Learning Workshop courses to share feedback on course content and delivery.

CLW courses are:

CCT Courses (Cooperative Cataloging Training)

  • Basic Creation of Name and Title Authorities
  • Basic Subject Cataloging Using LCSH
  • Fundamentals of Series Authorities
  • Fundmentals of Library of Congress Classification

Cat21 Courses

  • Digital Project Planning and Management Basics
  • Metadata and Digital Library Development
  • Principles of Controlled Vocabulary and Thesaurus Design
  • Metadata Standards and Applications
  • Rules and Tools for Cataloging Internet Resources

For each course, an outline of the content is provided.  Trainers are encouraged to annotate the course outline in the appropriate position, noting errors, bad URLs, changed headings, outdated information, etc.  The Continuing Education Training Materials Committee (CETM) will use this information to help determine the need for minor corrections or extensive revisions of course content.  Posts and discussion on other aspects of workshop delivery are also welcome (need for additional train-the-trainers sessions, etc).

Tags have been created for each course to help organize the content on this site.  The tags are listed in the "Group Categories" section to the right (tags are short versions of course names).

For information on CLW courses and the freely available course materials, see http://www.loc.gov/catworkshop/.
