Hello Fellow SRRT Members!
I'm a library and information science researcher with the University of Missouri. I'm seeking public library workers to participate in a research study about how economically-disadvantaged (low-income, impoverished, etc.) people engage with online information to satisfy basic needs and how public libraries support economically-disadvantaged people in these efforts.
What's Involved: Participation is voluntary and consists of a one-on-one interview via Zoom. The researcher will ask the participant about their experiences and perspective about serving economically-disadvantaged people in the public library context. Interviews will be recorded and transcribed.
Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years or older, live in the United States, currently work in a public library (full-time or part-time), and be able to participate in an online Zoom interview with both audio and video.
Privacy: If desired, participants may choose to be referred to by a pseudonym rather than their real name. Participants will NOT be asked to reveal their specific employing institution, address, or social security number. All participation records will be kept in accordance with University of Missouri guidelines.
Compensation: Each interview participant will receive a $25 gift card. Compensation is provided after the interview.
Sign Ups: If you're interested in participating, please fill out the brief eligibility survey linked here. Eligible individuals will be contacted by the researcher to schedule the interview.
