  • 1.  2023 LLX Council Agendas and Registration Links!

    Hello Councilors,

    We are more than a month away from the 2023 LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience (LLX) in New Orleans, LA! I am pleased to share the DRAFT Council Agendas that are now posted here: https://www.ala.org/aboutala/virtual-llx-and-annual-conference-council-meetings and attached to this message. Council documents will be posted starting the week of January 9th.

    Please note the meetings below are recommended or required:

    Friday, January 20, 2023

    • Virtual only: Membership Information Session @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CT (Council attendance strongly recommended) Register

    Friday, January 27, 2023

    • In-person only: ALA Governance Institute, 8:00 - 12:00 pm CT (Council attendance encouraged)
      • If you need to add to your existing registration or confirm that you are registered for this event you can do so by visiting the registration dashboard found in your confirmation. Select Demographic information and then you can edit your selection there. Once the limit of 200 people has been reached, a waitlist will be added.
    • Hybrid: ALA Council Special Session: ALA Bylaws Convention, 1:00 - 5:00 pm CT (Council attendance required) For more information, click here.

    • Hybrid: ALA-APA Council Session, 2:00 - 2:30 pm CT (Council attendance required)
    • Hybrid: ALA Council Meeting, 2:30 - 5:30 pm CT (Council attendance required)

    Sunday, January 29, 2023

    • Hybrid: ALA Council Meeting, 12:30 - 3:45 pm CT (Council attendance required)
    • Hybrid: Executive Board Candidates Forum, 4:00-5:00 pm CT (Council attendance encouraged)

    Reminder: All Councilors who plan to attend in person will need to register for LLX Full Access, while Councilors who plan to participate virtually should register for the LLX Digital Experience and register for the Zoom webinar. Members who are not Councilors and wish to observe ALA governance meetings do not need to register for LLX, but need to register for the Zoom webinar.

    As a refresher, please visit the "Basic Guide to the ALA Council and Resources" page, where you will find "Tune in Tuesdays" sessions that feature, Resolutions Workshop; Council Committee Chars; and Who are We as an association.

    Perhaps I misunderstand, but how is it possible to attend on Friday the highly recommended Membership Information Session from 1-2 when the ALA Council Special Session: ALA Bylaws Convention is required of all Councilors and also begins at 1.

    the membership information Session is virtual on January 20th. The Bylaws Convention is on January 27th in-person at LLX.
