As part of the Core Virtual Interest Group Week, Dennis Smith, West Virginia University Libraries, presented on Transparent Library Project Management. This presentation discusses how WVU libraries began incorporating project management (PM) principles into our projects with a primary focus to increase transparency and collaboration. As we strived to be a learning organization, we combined PM sound practices with open discussion and increased involvement.Dennis J. Smith, Associate Dean at West Virginia University, has worked a variety of position in Libraries over the past 15 years. As his work became more project based in many areas, he began exploring Project Management. In 2016, he completed a Masters in Project and Program Management and continues to use project management principles and practices in his daily work.
