Description
"Crossing Back Over: Insights from Consortial Veterans in the Library" is a webinar that brings together panelists who have made that journey from a consortial leadership role back to a role in an individual institution; each panelist will reflect on the skills, perspectives, and strategies they carried back into their libraries as they work with consortia moving forward. Participants will gain insight into how consortial experience can shape a library leader's relationship with its consortial partners, their strategies for collective action, and their perspectives in consortial value. Join us for a candid conversation about navigating both sides of the library–consortia relationship, and how the lessons learned can strengthen libraries of all kinds.
Featured Speakers:
- Maureen Clements is the Director for SUNY Library Services in the Office of Library and Information Services at SUNY System Administration. Maureen leads a team whose work helps SUNY Libraries implement and maintain technologies that intersect with instruction, research and technology.
- Nancy Kirkpatrick is the new Dean of Libraries at Smith College, where she brings a passion for inclusive leadership, innovation, and building future-ready organizations. With over two decades of experience in libraries and nonprofits, she draws on Appreciative Inquiry and human-centered design to inspire collaboration, growth, and possibility.
- Anne Osterman serves as the Dean of Libraries at George Mason University. Prior to this position, she served in a number of leadership and librarian roles for the VIVA consortium, American University, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Western Piedmont Community College.
