    Happy Friday everyone,

Our cataloging committee is looking for ways to improve knowledge sharing and communication between technical services and frontline staff.

Staff in our libraries have done a bit of informal work, including increasing staff interaction between the groups, but we are wondering if other institutions have had success through more robust training or other work?

To help us with this goal, we would like to know:

Has your technical services staff done any projects or work specifically aimed at helping with staff and patron discovery?

Have you used training, or informational materials-including short videos, handouts, or presentations-that describe how technical services work supports staff and patron discovery?

Have you used such materials to train frontline staff on how to reach out to technical services with their discovery problem points or innovative ideas? Or have you set up a process for this sharing of information?

If you have done any of these things, would you be willing to share your successful or not-so-successful attempts at helping these two groups with workflow and communication?

If so, please email me, and I will compile and share answers with those that are interested.

Thank you for your time and help with this topic.
