    The Minnesota Legislature allocated money to the seven Minnesota Multicounty Multitype Library Systems (MCMT) to conduct a census of library media programs in order to create a statistical picture of the programs. The goal is to collect data that supports increases in funding for increased staffing of both licensed media specialists (LMS) and paraprofessionals (media center support staff), up-to-date print and electronic resources, and other elements of media programs. The data can be used to demonstrate the role of the LMS in a well-funded program in student success. This census will serve as a foundation for future data collection.
