Dear colleagues,
As you have heard, the Library of Congress has paused work on its vocabularies due to the Library's system migration from Voyager to Folio. This includes a pause to the Quarterly Editorial Meetings and Office Hours held by the Library's Policy, Training, and Cooperative Programs (PTCP) Division. In the true spirit of cooperation, the PCC SACO Volunteer Trainers Group will be holding some Office Hours during the next few months to support the community and allow our LC colleagues to focus on their migration.
The first SACO Office Hour will be held on May 16, 2025, 1 PM-2 PM (EST) via Zoom: https://washington.zoom.us/j/94418735840
We will have a demonstration by Adam Schiff on how to fill in a classification proposal. Michelle Cronquist will present briefly on a SACO Short to allow for questions and clarifications.
The bulk of the hour will be devoted to answering your questions about SACO proposals. Do you have questions about how to make a proposal for a particular type of subject? Are you citing a new source and not sure how to fill in the 670? Would you like someone to review your proposal and give you feedback? Any and all questions are welcome. The SACO Volunteer Trainers Group will be available to provide guidance and work with you to improve your proposals. If you'd like to submit your question ahead of time, please add it to this shared document.
We hope you will join us, and look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
The SACO Volunteer Trainers Group
(submitted by Adam Schiff for the Group)
