    Dear  MIG colleagues,

Apologies for the short turnaround time -- the RSC Places Working Group would like comments on their change proposal relating to Jurisdictions, Governments, and Courts in RDA: http://www.rda-rsc.org/sites/all/files/RSC-PlacesWG-2023-1.pdf

In brief, this proposal seeks to clarify language in RDA around the treatment of governments and jurisdictions, in particular around the concept of a jurisdiction as a place associated with a governing corporate body.  This affects the text of some RDA elements and options, as well as entries in the RDA glossary, and the relevant RDA relationship designators.

The Places Working Group would like to discuss this proposal at the RDA meeting on May 18, and our CC:DA chair has asked that we send in comments to forward to our local RDA committee by May 1.  Please send me your comments by Monday morning May 1, and I'll send them along to the CC:DA chair and NARDAC.

    Best,
