Related to the item recently added to the CC:DA meeting agenda, please find attached a report on a MARC discussion paper authored by the ALA-LC Romanization Table Review Board with participation from individuals on the PCC Standing Committee on Standards and CC:AAM. The discussion paper concerns tagging transliteration schemes in MARC data provenance subfields, and was on the agenda of the MARC Advisory Committee (MAC) this recent Tues. 24 June. The report on the discussion paper outlines some issues related to RDA that are discussed in the paper, as well as in the comments received on the paper ahead of and during the MAC meeting.
