Greetings fellow AI/Machine learning IG members:

I have a few tidbits to report:

    1.  A small subgroup (Heather Heckman, Lencia Beltran and I) have been discussing organizing an upcoming program during Interest Group Week (March 6-11th, 2023). The good news is that Bohyun Kim has agreed to give a talk.  We'll also be soliciting other speakers soon so if you have any ideas or have a presentation in mind (current project, etc.) please let me know.
    2. During a meeting of Technology section interest group chairs, partnerships between different groups were discussed. The chair of the Imagineering group, Athina Livanos-Propst, proposed our two groups could do a joint session about "AI in fiction". It would be an informal session where we could talk about various portrayals of AI throughout the years. Does this appeal to anyone?
    3. You have an opportunity to make your voice heard: I've created a short, informal survey to ask your opinion about upcoming activities. It can be difficult to communicate in this asynchronous environment and this will take just a few minutes-please consider responding through this survey or send a message to the list!    https://txstate.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eFZVlAPqgBFspjE
