Hello everyone,
I'm posting this here because a few people have asked me about this. The OCLC Cataloging Community meeting conflicts with the February 2 session of our CC:DA meeting. It is recorded, and the recording will be made available after the event. If you register for the webinar, you will receive an email when the recording is available. I've pasted the message with the registration link below.
Registration is still open for our next semi-annual cataloging community meeting on Friday, 2 February 2024, starting at 2 PM Eastern time.
Join us for this free, virtual event and engage with panelists along with fellow cataloging community members about initiatives to increase diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in library metadata, and hear from OCLC staff about updates to our cataloging products and services.
Here's the planned agenda:
DEI in library metadata panel discussion:
- Treshani Perera (University of Kentucky Libraries) - Harmful Language in Transcribed Titles: A Case Study
· Sarah Hoover (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) - Prejudicial Materials Working Group of RBMS's Controlled Vocabularies Editorial Group
OCLC updates:
· Linked data and the integration of WorldCat Entities URIs into WorldCat
· Continuous efforts to enrich and improve WorldCat data and methods to update your local collection
· Ways to optimize e-resource management, access, and visibility using Collection Manager
· Reminders for users of Connexion browser and the WorldCat Metadata API
Can't attend? Register at this link to receive the full recording after the event.
