Please join us for an in-person preconference workshop, Practice Cataloging using Official RDA, at ALA Annual in Chicago on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for catalogers to gain hands-on experience cataloging resources and creating name authority records using the official RDA Toolkit and related Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) documentation, including LC-PCC Policy Statements (LC-PCC PSs) and Metadata Guidance Documentation (MGDs). Presentations and demonstrations will help participants get started by focusing on how to use the documentation and the basics for recording values of elements. The majority of the workshop will be spent on individual or group exercises with experts available to answer questions.
This workshop is presented by members of the PCC Standing Committee on Training (SCT) RDA Training Task Group: Monographs, the PCC SCT RDA Training Task Group: Name Authorities, and the North American RDA Committee (NARDAC).
