Recording our MW meeting

  • 1.  Recording our MW meeting

    Hello everyone,

Since I announced the Big Heads meeting to the CORE Metadata and Collections List, a few of our followers have asked if the meeting will be recorded and made available.

I know in the past we have recorded our meetings so Big Head members that could not attend watch did weever open access to these recording to the old ALCTS central List? Is making the recording publically available through the CORE Metadata and Collections List something we want to do?

Please let me know your preferences.

    Thanks,

    Nina

I have no objections.  I view making the recordings publicly available the same as having interest folk attend our in person meetings

I support making the recording available publicly. Now that Core is using Zoom, I think it would be appropriate for it to be available for a limited time but not for all eternity.

Me, too, on making the recording public. Following up on Dracine's point about duration, let's have a conversation sometime about how long to keep the recordings around. Best, all. Marty

If we make the recording public for a limited time, what would be a good time frame one month more less?

    30 days? 45?

A month/30 days would seem appropriate.

Can we assume we will still have written notes from the meeting, which will stick around after the recording is gone?

Yes our written minutes would still exist, I'm wondering if there is a way to make the recording nonpublic after 30 days , but continue to be available to Big Heads members from in our Archived Files on our Core Connect site.

Your Core staff liaison here. I can set an expiration date on the recording, so you just need to let me know which date to use.

Then there are 2 options for making the recording available only to this group after that date.

    1. You can download the files and upload them in this group's library in Connect;
    2. I can set a password on the recording and you can post the password in this group so no one else can access it.

    Hi everyone,

I think the recording should be made public, especially with the topics we are planning. There will likely be much interest.
