    Dear Metadata Interest Group colleagues,

With apologies for delays in relaying this message (been swamped at work!), two important updates from the world of RDA:

    2. The RDA Steering Committee November meeting: agenda and registration information for public observers

    NARDAC representative applications

The American Library Association is seeking applications for the ALA North American RDA Committee (NARDAC) Representative. This person will serve a three year term alongside one other ALA NARDAC Representative. Applicants should have a strong personal knowledge of RDA and be able to commit to the time necessary to fulfill the duties of the position. For further information including how to apply please see the attached document. The application deadline is Friday, November 14th. Please submit application materials to karl.pettitt@du.edu and cc kglennan@umd.edu.

    RSC November meeting

The agenda and papers for the November Meeting have been published, and RSC Chair Renate Behrens is looking forward to welcoming observers to the online Public Session on 18 November at 7-9pm UTC (There is a handy time converter here).

Three proposals will be discussed at the meeting (also linked from the agenda):

We are also very grateful to Aimee Hay, Program Coordinator, National State Libraries Australasia on Official RDA Implementation, for agreeing to record a presentation specifically for the RSC Public Session on the Australia-wide project to transition the library and information sector to Official RDA. This collaborative project runs throughout 2025 and 2026 to create the minimum critical documentation to contextualise Official RDA for the Australian information environment in preparation for Official RDA becoming the preferred standard by May 2027.

If you would like to attend as an observer, please email RSC Secretary Anne Welsh asking to be added to the list and she will be happy to send joining instructions nearer the time: RSCsecretary@rdatoolkit.org
