    The ALA Core Cataloging and Classification Research Interest Group invites presentation proposals for its program during the ALA Core Interest Group Week 2024, March 4-8. We invite you to submit presentation proposal for consideration, the program will be held virtually Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (EST)/10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (CST).

    CCRIIG's charge is to serve as a forum for sharing and discussing the latest research projects in the organization and retrieval of information.

    Presentations (not including time for questions and answers) should last no longer then 15-20 minutes. We will have Q&A time after the presentations.

    Possible topics considered might include, but are not limited to:

    ·         Critical Cataloging

    ·         "Breaking the rules" to satisfy a user need

    ·         Diversity in Cataloging or Classification or DEI efforts in Cataloging or Classification

    ·         Implementation and maintenance of local controlled vocabularies, subject headings, or classification systems

    ·         Open Educational Resources

    ·         Artificial Intelligence effect on cataloging or classification

    Please email your proposal using the subject line CCRIG proposal to the Interest Group's chair, Patricia Ratkovich (pratkovi@ua.ed) by Friday February 9. The applicants will be notified of acceptance decisions by February 13.

    Your proposal should include the following:

                    The name, email, job title and affiliated institution of the presenter(s), the title of the presentation, and an abstract not to exceed 300 words.
