Head, Global Studies Technical Services
The Head of Global Studies Technical Service provides leadership, managerial direction, and oversight for a department that performs cataloging, acquisitions, and other metadata services functions for the Penn Libraries' global collections. Responsibilities include designing efficient workflows; using technology to enhance operations; evaluating and implementing cataloging and metadata standards, policies, and procedures; and managing acquisitions processes in accordance with Libraries' fiscal policies. Collaborate with Librarians of the Center for Global Collections to set cataloging and acquisitions priorities. As a part of the management team of the Information Processing Center (IPC), participate in strategic and operational planning for the IPC, as well as participating in library-wide projects, committees, and task forces, and coordinate the work of Global Studies Technical Services with the Libraries more broadly.
