About this Group

Purpose: Provides a forum for researching potential applications of Machine and Deep Learning in library science, including discussions, publications, and outreach to the wider Library community. Its goal is to educate librarians on uses of the complex techniques of machine learning and to provide a space for critically thinking both about new applications, and about the ethical and social impact of these technologies , as the field rapidly expands in the coming decade.

    Do you have a favorite or thought-provoking story featuring an AI? If so, come discuss it during our informal IG session where we are partnering with the Imagineering Group. Here's the registration link and the summary: 

    Join the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Imagineering Interest Groups in a free wheeling, open forum. Everyone is invited to discuss their favorite (or infamous) examples of artificial intelligence in books, movies, and television. Everything from evil super computers to benevolent Data is on the table.
