I posted a message about OCLC programs at ALA Annual to the Core Metadata and Collections Section, but I wanted to post a special message about the OCLC Cataloging Community meeting here because I know it will be of interest to all of you in this community attending ALA.
The description in the ALA schedule and on OCLC's page does not provide a full agenda, but I promise that it's a program you don't want to miss unless you are already attending another session. That's all I can say right now--sorry for being mysterious. These are the details:
Please join us for the OCLC Cataloging Community meeting at ALA Annual in Philadelphia from 10:30 to Noon on Friday, June 27 in the Pennsylvania Convention Center 115A. Topics will include accessibility metadata, OCLC's planned BIBFRAME editor, the latest Dewey news, fun cataloging trivia, and others, along with ample time to ask cataloging questions. OCLC staff on the panel will be Morag Boyd, Kate James, Alex Kyrios, Morris Levy, Jeff Mixter, Anne Washington, and Cynthia Whitacre. Registration for the session is available here (just click on the event schedule), though registration is optional.
