Core Cataloging Norms Interest Group

Hello Cataloging Norms IG,

I'm a member of the Core Interest Group Coordinating Committee. We are reviewing the Core IGs for this year and noticed your group does not have a designated Chair for the 23-24 year. If there is a new chair, please complete the May Report for IGs: https://alacore.org/handbook/interest-groups/report-form/ .  This form will ask for the new Chair when the May report is selected. Without a chair, the group will need to be dissolved.  

If your group does not have a new Chair for this year, this may be a good time for the group to ask for volunteers to lead the group.  Please let the IG Coordinating Committee know by August 15th of the new chair for your group.

Dear Rachel,

Thanks for your enquiry and email for new chairs and co-chairs for the IG. Unfortunately we have not been able to recruit anyone for these two positions. I have sent out a call for new chair and co-chair today as suggested by you. Hopefully we will get some candidates by August 15. I will keep you posted. I do not want to see the IG dissolved and I understand that we need new candidates to fill these positions.

Good morning, Rachel,

Unfortunately I did not receive any mails showing interest in the job of chair or vice-chair for the Cataloging Norms IG. It is really sad to see this vibrant IG go and I am sorry to have this happen. I wish it could be continued without a leader but understand the situation.
