Thank you to all of you who attended CITSIG's virtual session this week:  No More Copy Cats!

Thank you to Laura Daniels, Assistant Director of Metadata Production at Cornell University Library, who did a fabulous job introducing the topic and leading a 45 minute discussion with over 140 live attendees.  The presentation focused on changes at the Cornell University Library's Technical Services Department, where the distinct roles of "copy" and "original" cataloger were eliminated in favor of a single role of "cataloger".  Laura shared the rationale behind the change and the logistics of how it was implemented, including the impact on workflows and changes to team structure.

Our overall registration for this event was 285 individuals, which shows how much this topic resonates with many of us on many levels and in different ways.

Here is the recording of the session, along with Laura's slides.

Look for more wonderful discussions scheduled to take place in-person at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.  Please consider topics you would like to discuss at the conference and consider offering to facilitate a small group discussion.  Yesterday, we posted a call for topics here on ALA Connect and we look forward to receiving your ideas and interest.  Reach out to me or Kelli if you have any questions.
