    Dear Colleagues,

I would like to thank everyone who attended the Core Board meeting on Friday, the Preservation community was well represented.  Additionally, I would like to thank everyone who could not make the meeting but sent words or thoughts of encouragement, these words and thoughts were much appreciated.

Some very good news came out of the Board meeting, the proposal to create a new Preservation Section within Core was unanimously approved by the Board.  The Section will officially kick off on September 1st of this year.  We will be discussing this topic further at the PAIG meeting in March (you can register for it here https://ala-events.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_48LOgcIEQN-zdOD457BopA)

Finally, a huge thanks to Martha Horan, Andy Hart, Karen O'Connell, Kim Norman, Beth Doyle, Miriam Nelson, Kara McClurken, and Sean Ferguson for their hard work and dedication to this effort.  Also a big thanks to Margaret Heller for all of her help in shepherding the proposal through the Core Board.

I look forward to working with all of you in our new Section.
    Mark
