Hello Interest Group members. I am Shari Theroux, your returning co-chair. Chelsea Gizzi, Metadata Librarian for Audiovisual Resources at New York University Division of Libraries, is joining me as co-chair this year. We are excited to be chairing this interest group and would like to support you any way that we can.
We are going to kick off the new year by bringing back our sharing sessions. These sessions will be a time where we can discuss topics that are of interest to the group. We would love to hear your thoughts on issues that are of concern to you and/or your institutions. We will have one every month (with a few possible exceptions due to holidays) and change the time and day to give more people a chance to join. Our first session will be on Wednesday, September 23 at 1:00 PM CDT. For this session, our topic will be the use of AI in our workflows. If you are using AI or wondering about using AI this may be a great chance to speak with others on the topic. I know that we had one session on this last year, but we felt with the rapid increase in AI use and the constant changes in AI capability that it may be worth another discussion.
