    Here are my thoughts:

    • Proposal No. 2026-05: Recording Container Designation in the 87X Fields of the MARC 21 Holdings Format

Seems OK. I initially hoped that this might address the long-standing problems for bound-with items, but that unfortunately does not seem to be in scope.

    • Proposal No. 2026-06: Defining a New Field for Notated Movement Characteristics in the MARC 21 Bibliographic and Authority Formats

      Fine by me.

    • Discussion Paper No. 2026-DP05: Recording Choreographic Medium of Performance in the MARC 21 Bibliographic and Authority Formats

I certainly agree that a new field is needed, rather than continuing to tweak the 382 field. I also concur that it makes sense to start out with minimal content designation and letting the experts determine over time if more is needed.  I have no objections to the proposed use of "364".

    • Discussion Paper No. 2026-DP06: Broadening Field 542 to Record Intellectual Property Disputes in the MARC 21 Bibliographic Format

The use case has been justified, although I do have questions about the advisability of capturing this type of data in a bibliographic description, since it is likely to change when the dispute is resolved. (If that's even a possibility.) This information does not belong in field 264, IMO.

    • Discussion Paper No. 2026-DP07: Adding an Indicator for Non-preferred Variant Headings in 4XX Fields in the MARC21 Authority Format

There is a use case for this; however, I am bothered by the use of the term "preferred" when it comes to variant headings. They all already are non-preferred. The terminology is certainly confusing in an RDA context. Is there some other word that could be used instead?

    • Discussion Paper No. 2026-DP08: Adding Subfield $5 to Field 340 in the MARC 21 Bibliographic Format

The use case seems to be sufficient for moving forward with this DP.  However, on a personal level, I find the use of $5 in bibliographic records to mostly be "noise" for those institutions not represented in the $5. (I recognize that ship has sailed.)
