Library Consulting IG Seeks 2024-2025 Chairperson

  • 1.  Library Consulting IG Seeks 2024-2025 Chairperson

    Posted Feb 28, 2024 10:13 AM

This has been a wonderful year serving as Chairperson of the Core Library Consulting Interest Group. I will be stepping down as Chairperson the end of June and am currently recruiting a new Chairperson to take over my duties.

The ALA Core Library Consulting Interest Group plays a vital role in supporting library professionals across the nation by providing a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and professional development opportunities. As Chairperson for 2024-2025, you would have the unique opportunity to lead our group in facilitating meaningful discussions, organizing engaging events, and fostering collaboration among consultants and practitioners in the library field.

In your role as Chairperson, some of your responsibilities would include:

    1. Organizing and moderating meetings, webinars, and other events to facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development.
    2. Cultivating a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages active participation and engagement from members.
    3. Representing the Interest Group within the ALA community and advocating for the interests of library consultants.

Your leadership would not only benefit our Interest Group but will also contribute to the advancement of the library profession as a whole. Your insights and dedication will inspire fellow consultants and help shape the future of libraries in our communities.

If you are interested in taking on this leadership role beginning in July, please feel free to reach out to me directly at curtisrogersconsulting@gmail.com. I will be happy to work with you on the details to get you started leading and hosting meetings and events.

    Warm regards,
