We routinely send periodical binding units to our offsite location unbound but string-tied in units. When they circulate, we will usually send them to the commercial bindery. I'm wondering if anyone has decided to stop binding periodicals all together, or has even stopped collapsing periodicals into binding units at all? If you have done something "radical" with your periodical binding workflow and can share either here or privately, I would love to hear what you have done.
