    Session description:

    This session will introduce participants to the PCC with a focus on its training resources supporting its various programs, highlighting the work of the Standing Committee on Training (SCT). Lastly, the presenters will showcase how contributing to professional organizations like the PCC as individuals and institutions can support professional growth and development, while supporting the profession.

    Presenters:

    May Chan is Head, Metadata Services at the University of Toronto which has been a contributor to the PCC Name Authorities Cooperative (NACO) Program since 2019. She has served on the PCC Standing Committee on Training (SCT) since 2022 and currently co-chairs SCT with Jeanette Norris. May is passionate about demystifying cataloguing work as well as promoting computational thinking in metadata creation and management.

    Jeanette Norris is Director of Monographic Processing Services at Yale Library. She has served on the PCC Standing Committee on Training (SCT) since fall of 2022 and is currently co-chairing SCT with May. Jeanette is particularly interested in broad education of the fundamentals of information organization, and the intersection of metadata and collections.

    The program is free, but registration is required. The session will be recorded.
