Hello,
I would like to make a job posting to the Preservation Administration Interest Group:
Stanford Libraries is looking for two full time Collection Care Project Specialists to join our Preservation team. These positions are 2-year fixed terms, and the expected pay range is $53,000 - $68,000 per annum. Please share widely with anyone who might be interested.
About the Position:
Under general supervision of the Preservation Librarian with some degree of initiative, the Collection Care Project Specialist will work on a team tasked with the preservation assessment and housing of collection items moving to new storage locations. You will create custom housings for the rare book collection using a computerized box-cutting machine and prepare off-the-shelf housings for circulating book and paper collections. You will evaluate circulating collection materials for housing needs, and prepare brittle, fragile, and non-standard collection items for shelving and use. As a project team member, you will work closely with colleagues in Collection Care and Special Collections to evaluate and address the preservation needs of Stanford Libraries collections. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong communication skills, and works well in a team environment.
