Dear Colleagues,
I'm conducting a research study about the leadership of project managers in galleries, libraries, archives, and museums, and thought folks in this group might be interested to participate. Participants will receive a $25 incentive, either as a gift card (Costco or Amazon) or as a donation to a charity of their choice.
I'm hoping to conduct at least 10 one-on-one interviews with folks who have served as a PM – or departmental manager whose team does a lot of projects – in a GLAM institution for at least two years.
My motivation is rooted in my own experience as a project manager in academic libraries for many years, as well as my study of Leadership after getting a PhD in 2014. As a nonbinary and queer person, I'm also interested to increase the visibility of all genders in PM, which has been a largely male-dominated field.
If this introduction sounds intriguing, I hope you might read the study description and the consent form to learn more. You can also review my CV. If you're interested, please fill out this form with your contact information. I plan to select participants on a rolling basis and conduct interviews through May, aiming for a sample with a broad range of experiences, genders, and institution types.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to others you know. Random advice is also welcome.
This study was approved by the IRB, protocol FY25-525.
Thank you,
