Hi everyone,
I think I recall this topic being discussed at ALA's Core Storage discussion last year, but I don't remember all of the details (perhaps it was UIC?). I'm looking to talk to storage colleagues about inventorying/auditing their collections en masse. Obviously, at the scale we work in, scanning each individual item is impractical, so I wonder if anyone has done some kind of representative sample inventorying of their collection for their library. If so, how did you determine the sample size, and what did you do with the results?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated! I'm hoping to bring some recommendations to my leadership team. We use CaiaSoft as our inventory management system, and have been auditing trays piecemeal since implementation.
Thanks,
Charlotte
