The Authority Control Interest Group is currently looking for individuals interested in serving as Chair (1-year term beginning July 1) as well as Secretary and Members-at-Large. We try to meet quarterly to brainstorm ideas for upcoming events such as CORE Interest Group Week, ALA Annual, potentially CORE Forum, and any other educational or programming needs that we deem necessary.
As Chair you would plan and facilitate all meetings & programs held by the Interest Group, periodically attend meetings with other Core Metadata & Collections Section Chairs, coordinate with Core staff regarding programming, as well as draft semi-annual reports for past and future plans of the Interest Group.
Secretary will be tasked with taking notes at Interest Group business meetings, ensuring attendance is taken at in-person events, and participating in general planning of events.
Members-at-large contribute ideas for future events and may be asked to post to listservs and reach out to potential speakers about program participation.
