Colleagues-
IFLA has made another revised draft standard available for worldwide review: IFLA Guidelines for Audiovisual Resources. It has already been approved by the IFLA Audiovisual and Multimedia Section.
Due to the short review period (response due mid-May) as well as the specialized nature of these Guidelines, CC:DA will not provide a formal response.
HOWEVER...
OLAC is planning on collecting information for their response and would welcome input from CC:DA (and anyone else reading this post). Thanks to Kelley McGrath for offering us the opportunity to contribute.
Please reply to this thread if you have any comments to share: Deadline - COB Friday May 9, 2025
Additional information for reviewers:
In order to fully understand the purpose and scope of the revision, respondents are invited to read the Statement of intent issued on this page: Edition Statement IFLA Guidelines AV Resources - Google Docs
Feedback will be particularly appreciated on the following topics:
- Do you think the language of the document is easy to understand from a non-native English speaker point of view?
- Do you think the structure of the document is clear and consistent?
- Do you think the purpose of the document is clearly stated?
- Did you find the statement of intent helpful in your assessment of the document?
- Once it is endorsed, how would you like IFLA to communicate on the document in the future?
