About this Group

Purpose: Provides a forum for the exchange of ideas among those persons working with or interested in electronic resources; promotes the acquisition and access of electronic resources collections; strengthens communication and cooperation among persons working with electronic resources collections; addresses issues related to collection management and development of electronic resources, their funding, and selection; and contributes to the improvement of education and training of electronic resource archivists and librarians.

    As you are planning for the new academic year, consider adding a free tool to your portfolio of services. 

    Open Access Helper ( is a free browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari (iOS, iPadOS, macOS) and other Chromium based browsers, which will assist your users obtain free, legal, open access copies of scientific articles (where available - see for details) and also offers features to support paid, subscription access, such as:

    Open Access Helper is a free tool, which has been available since 2020. It is privacy preserving and I would be very interested to speak to you and your colleagues on how to make it better.
