This past week we had a lively conversation on a number of important topics:
- How to integrate team experiences with employees who have been in the org for decades vs new folks-especially if there is a merger of teams or changes to reporting structures
- Getting to know people at an individual level can help as can leading by example
- How can leadership provide stability in otherwise uncertain times
- How can people contribute ideas and feel valued
- Onboarding is really important in this instance
- Psychological safety is important to establish-one resource was listed
- Ensure there is a clear vision that folks can get excited about and connect to their own work
- Ask how people want to be recognized
- Ensure a multi-pronged internal communication strategy-email, newsletter, personal connections
- Leadership by visiting with folks informally
