Purpose: Provides a forum for discussion of issues within the field of technical services which are relevant to library staff at all levels, particularly those issues relating to the evolution of technical services as it affects and is affected by technology and greater interdependency among all library departments.

    Thank you to those of you who have submitted topics for the upcoming ALA Core Creative Ideas in Technical Services Interest Group (CITSIG) in-person round table discussion at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.  

    We are extending the deadline for topics until Wednesday, May24th!  

    We are looking to target a discussion or two in one of the following areas, and we also we welcome any topic you would like to propose:

    **Conducting research as Technical Services staff
    **Current issues in E-resources or Acquisitions
    **Critical Cataloging
    **Building core competencies for Technical Services work

    --------------------------------
    The ALA  session is meant to allow time for lively small group discussions and a quick summary of key topics covered as a close to the session.  Relevant topics include anything related to technical services work at any level.

    Please consider submitting your creative idea for a discussion topic and your willingness to lead a discussion of your topic by emailing a short statement of the topic (no more than 250 words), along with a statement of willingness to lead a table discussion, your name, contact information and affiliation.
