Core Webinar: 7 Secrets to Getting Staff to Work Together
Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2025
All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.
Description:
Teamwork might make the dream work, but it is the teammates who make the team work. To facilitate effective teamwork, leaders must understand the nuances of team micro dynamics—small, seemingly inconsequential behaviors that foster collaboration, communication, and cooperation between individual team members. This session will explore the concept of creating a workplace culture where staff value being a part of something bigger than themselves. Through storytelling, humor, and self-assessment, participants will discover the seven secrets to creating good teammates. Prepare to exit with practical takeaways and a rejuvenated sense of purpose. Every community wins when their library's staff works together!
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this webinar, the attendees will be able to:
-
Identify the five key behaviors of a good teammate (Active, Loyal, Invested, Viral, and Empathetic).
-
Employ effective strategies for confronting toxic team behaviors and difficult teammates without disrupting workflow.
-
Implement specific terminology that encourages teamwork and facilitates a "team-first" mentality.
Who should attend?
The target audience is library and community/board leadership and management. Also appropriate for general library staff, as it provides an overarching understanding of how to be a better team member.
