Dear Colleagues,
I want to draw your attention to two Core Library Storage Interest Group activities at ALA Annual in Chicago at the end of this month:
Meeting: The discussion group will meet on Sunday, June 28th from 2:30 to 3:30 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick, Grant Park C . The agenda includes three group discussion topics:
-
Storage and transport of oversized materials
-
Transportation and delivery at your institution/library system
-
Using AI for space planning and managing library storage facilities
Please join us!
Tour: There are still a small number of slots available for tours of Mansueto Library at the University of Chicago & CRL on Friday, June 26th.
Details: Attendees will travel on their own to Mansueto Library and meet at the Regenstein Library entrance at the University of Chicago at 12:30pm. Once that tour ends, the group will travel to the CRL facility which is slightly less than a mile away. Attendees may walk or travel by rideshares between the two locations. The second tour will start around 2:15, and is expected to last an hour, allowing for time to get to the convention center for the opening of the Exhibits Hall. Please sign up by June 22nd. Please feel free to contact me or Gary (gary.burcheski@yale.edu) if you have any questions about the tour.
Many thanks to our colleagues at U Chicago and CRL for this opportunity!
