     Dear Colleagues,

I want to draw your attention to two Core Storage Discussion Group activities at ALA Annual next week:

Meeting: The discussion group will meet on Sunday, June 29th from 2:30 to 3:30 at the Philadelphia Marriott, Room 303.  The agenda includes:

    • FETCH update – Cathy Martyniak
    • 2020 Water Disaster at Cornell University's Library Annex – Andy Horbal
    • Odd shaped box care and handling training preview – Cathy Martyniak
    • General updates from the community

    Please join us!

Tour: There are still slots available for a tour the Penn Libraries storage facility on Thursday, June 26, 2025 .

Details:  Attendees will meet at the Convention Center's rideshare pickup area at 9:30 am.  Participants will travel in rideshares, splitting the cost, and travel time will be about 30-35 minutes each way.  The tour will last approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours, so expect to spend about 3-3 ½ hours total from pick up to drop off. If you have a car, you are welcome to drive directly to the facility on your own (Please indicate this on the sign-up sheet). Parking is available at the facility and address will be shared upon sign-up.

Signups are limited to 15 participants, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please sign up by June 23rd so that we have an accurate number for scheduling rideshares for the return trip. There will also be a limited waitlist.  You will receive confirmation of your spot or waitlist status via email.  If you are not able to attend, please let us know ASAP so that we may offer your slot to the next person on the list.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the tour, and many thanks to our colleagues at Penn Libraries for providing this opportunity to see the facility.
