Core Preservation Section Discussion

    Dear Preservation Colleagues:

Over the past seven months, a small but dedicated group of preservation professionals has been working to establish a Preservation Section within ALA-Core. Our goal has been to bring back that environment where people with an interest in preservation could connect with other like-minded individuals. It has been our opinion that ALA and Core offer an opportunity for these connections that is different from other organizations.

On the ninth of this month, the proposal was presented before the Core Board. The Board expressed some concern with the communities ability to fill the leadership positions in the committees and interest groups that would be a part of the section. We would appreciate it if you would attend the Core Board meeting on February 10th at 3pm CST as a show of support.

Thank you in advance for your support!
