What is a Buzz Session?
A Buzz Session is a casual discussion with colleagues focused on a specific topic. This format seamlessly blends informal learning with networking, allowing participants to share insights, cultivate connections, and get back to their busy day.
What will we talk about?
Bring your experiences and questions; we'll provide some starting discussion prompts including:
-
How does your organization manage travel logistics and costs for out-of-town candidates? Does it depend on the role?
-
What steps does your library take to reduce bias in the hiring and interviewing process?
-
What does reference checking look like in your organization? How has that process changed in recent years?
Good to know:
- Audience: open to anyone regardless of your role or library type.
- Flexibility: stop in for a minute or stay for the entire session.
- Privacy: The session will not be recorded to encourage open and honest discussion.
If you have any questions about the session or topics you would like to discuss, please email Elizabeth Fairall at efairall@rollins.edu.
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
