    Please excuse cross-posting.

ALA Core's Competencies and Education for a Career in Cataloging Interest Group is looking for two volunteers to serve a two-year term as Co-vice chairs.

    Co-vice chairs will serve a two-year team: one year as co-vice chairs (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025) and one year as chairs (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026)

The Competencies and Education for a Career in Cataloging Interest Group provides a forum to discuss the current state of education and employment in cataloging and explores the relationship of cataloging practitioners and employers with library educators.

As a Co Vice-Chair, you will assist with the planning and delivery of the Group's meetings, including solicitation for speakers and selection of topics to be presented.

As Co-Chair, you will assume full responsibility for planning the groups' meetings, offering ALA Core Interest Group Week and ALA Annual programming, filing reports to ALA, and selecting incoming Co Vice-Chairs.

ALA Core membership is required. Attendance at ALA Annual Conferences is desirable and highly encouraged for the one-year Co Vice-Chair term, and required for the one year Co-Chair commitment.

    No prior experience is necessary.

Please submit your name and a brief statement of interest to the current Co-chairs Marina Morgan (mmorgan@flsouthern.edu) and Sofia Slutskaya. (sofia.slutskaya@emory.edu) by Monday, June 10, 2024.
